HUMO Expands International Partnership: Co-badged UnionPay–HUMO Card Launched in Collaboration with UnionPay and Agrobank
Tashkent, July 14, 2026 — The national payment system HUMO, in collaboration with UnionPay International and JSCB Agrobank, has launched the co-badged UnionPay–HUMO card. Agrobank has become the first financial institution to issue this new card product, with the rollout for Agrobank clients scheduled for mid-August 2026.
The launch of the card marks another milestone in HUMO’s international expansion, aimed at offering users greater payment flexibility both within Uzbekistan and abroad.
The project was implemented under a Memorandum of Understanding signed between HUMO and UnionPay International in February 2024. The document outlines the development of joint payment solutions and the phased introduction of co-badged cards by Uzbek banks. The project’s launch partner is the state-owned commercial bank Agrobank, one of the country’s largest financial institutions, leveraging its extensive branch network and long-standing experience with UnionPay products.
“The launch of the UnionPay–HUMO co-badged card represents a significant milestone in HUMO’s international strategy. We are consistently enhancing our national payment system by building modern solutions that combine local infrastructure with a global acceptance network. Together with UnionPay and Agrobank, we are providing users with a convenient, secure, and seamless payment tool for domestic and international transactions, while strengthening Uzbekistan’s position in the global payments ecosystem,” said Dinar Samigullin, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of HUMO.
The UnionPay–HUMO co-badged card combines the advantages of national and international payment networks into a single instrument. Cardholders can make contactless payments, shop online, pay via POS terminals, and withdraw cash at ATMs worldwide. Additionally, users will enjoy exclusive international offers and privileges from UnionPay, delivering even more value when traveling abroad.
“The UnionPay–HUMO co-badged card merges the strength of Uzbekistan’s national payment infrastructure with UnionPay’s global acceptance network, ensuring seamless transactions worldwide. This launch is a practical step toward strengthening economic, tourism, and cultural ties between China and Uzbekistan. UnionPay International remains committed to expanding cooperation with local partners, enhancing payment services, and unlocking new opportunities for users in Uzbekistan,” emphasized Wang Lixin, CEO of UnionPay International.
Agrobank’s extensive branch network, proven track record with UnionPay products, and robust card infrastructure made it the ideal pioneer for launching this combined national and international payment solution.
“The partnership between HUMO, Agrobank, and UnionPay is a key step forward for Uzbekistan’s financial infrastructure. The national system, HUMO, is expanding its international reach while retaining its independence. Meanwhile, our clients can now use a single card in over 180 countries where UnionPay is accepted. This is a major contribution to driving cashless payments, improving financial inclusion, and elevating Uzbekistan’s role in global financial relations,” noted Farkhod Nasriev, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Agrobank.
The rollout of the UnionPay–HUMO co-badged card is another major step in HUMO’s international journey, bringing world-class, secure, and convenient payment options to users across Uzbekistan and beyond
