HUMO and Halyk Bank Expand HUMO Card Usage in Kazakhstan
HUMO, Uzbekistan’s national payment system, together with Halyk Bank, is scaling up the infrastructure for accepting HUMO cards in Kazakhstan. HUMO cardholders can now not only pay for purchases through Halyk Bank payment terminals, but also use their cards across the bank’s ATM network to withdraw cash while traveling in Kazakhstan.
Previously, HUMO, together with Halyk Bank and Tenge Bank, enabled HUMO card payments through Halyk Bank terminals in Kazakhstan. This allows HUMO cardholders to pay directly by card without having to exchange currency or withdraw cash in advance. The service is available at all merchant and service outlets connected to Halyk Bank’s acquiring network.
As part of the further expansion of HUMO’s presence in Kazakhstan, a visual navigation system has been introduced. Branded informational materials are now being placed at merchant and service outlets, helping HUMO cardholders quickly find locations where HUMO card payments are accepted. At the same time, HUMO card payments are available across all regions and cities of Kazakhstan at merchant and service outlets connected to Halyk Bank’s acquiring network. At the initial stage, branded materials were introduced in the Turkistan Region, as well as in the cities of Shymkent and Taraz.
“Our goal is to make using HUMO cards outside Uzbekistan just as simple and familiar as it is at home. Together with Halyk Bank, we are expanding card acceptance infrastructure and creating clear customer navigation so that users can quickly find retail outlets where HUMO cards are accepted. As a result, travel becomes even more comfortable, and the payment process becomes as familiar and convenient as possible”, HUMO noted.
The expansion of HUMO’s infrastructure in Kazakhstan goes beyond cashless payments: HUMO cards are now also accepted across the entire Halyk Bank ATM network. For holders of HUMO cards issued by any bank in Uzbekistan, this creates a single, convenient payment experience while traveling: one card is enough to pay for everyday purchases, withdraw cash, and check the card balance at Halyk Bank ATMs. Combining the capabilities of payment terminals and ATMs makes the customer journey as simple and familiar as possible and expands the use of Uzbekistan’s national payment system beyond the country’s borders. Ease of use and a unified customer journey are the guiding principles behind the further development of the partnership between HUMO and Halyk Bank.
The development of international payment infrastructure is today one of HUMO’s key areas of growth.
