HUMO Supports Uzbekistan Youth Day in Malaysia, Bringing Together More Than 150 Young Uzbek Nationals

On 27 June, an event celebrating Uzbekistan Youth Day was held in Kuala Lumpur with the support of HUMO National Payment System. The event was organized by the World Association of Uzbek Youth in Malaysia (WAYU Malaysia) and brought together more than 150 young Uzbek nationals studying and working in Malaysia, serving as a platform for networking, knowledge exchange, professional development, and strengthening ties with their home country.

Today, more than 28,500 young Uzbek nationals are pursuing education and professional experience abroad. For many of them, initiatives of this kind represent a meaningful opportunity to maintain a connection with their homeland, meet fellow compatriots, share experiences, and feel part of a unified community.

The event was attended by representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Malaysia, including the Consul for Political Affairs and the First and Second Secretaries of the Embassy, as well as students from leading Malaysian universities, young professionals, and community activists. The programme featured official addresses, a presentation on WAYU Malaysia's activities, a cultural segment, networking, and an awards ceremony recognizing the most active members of the Uzbek youth community in Malaysia.

Delivering the opening address, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Malaysia Botir Ismoilov stated:

"Even far from home, we remain one family and must represent Uzbekistan with honour and a sense of responsibility, upholding the country's good name. The way the world sees Uzbekistan tomorrow depends on what we do and achieve today."

He also underscored the importance of young compatriots making full use of the opportunities available to them for learning and professional growth, while continuing to be worthy ambassadors for Uzbekistan abroad.

By supporting initiatives that unite young Uzbek nationals overseas, HUMO contributes to sustaining their connection with their home country, fostering the community of compatriots, and creating opportunities for communication, knowledge sharing, and professional exchange.

"For HUMO, projects of this kind represent an investment in Uzbekistan's human capital. Today, young compatriots are gaining knowledge and international experience abroad; tomorrow, they will be the ones building new technologies, developing businesses, public institutions, and the national economy. We are proud to support initiatives that help preserve ties with the homeland and bring young people together around shared values," HUMO said in a statement.

For many of the event's participants, Malaysia is not only a place of study and work but also a country of permanent residence. As it develops its international payment services, HUMO is committed to making the everyday lives of compatriots abroad more convenient. Through its partnership with Alipay+, HUMO cardholders can make payments at millions of merchants in more than 50 countries worldwide, including Malaysia, using their standard HUMO card with no need to obtain additional payment instruments.
