HUMO Users Surpass UZS 19 Billion in International QR Payments via Alipay+ During the First Five Months of 2026

The national payment system HUMO has announced interim results highlighting the growing adoption of international QR payments through Alipay+, Ant International’s unified cross-border mobile payment platform. During the first five months of 2026, HUMO users completed more than 21,000 transactions via Alipay+, with total transaction volume exceeding UZS 19.2 billion.

lipay+ enables HUMO cardholders to pay for goods and services abroad directly through their banking mobile applications using a familiar QR-code payment experience. There is no need to download additional applications or complete separate registration procedures — the service is seamlessly integrated into participating banking apps. Payments are processed in Uzbek soums at the prevailing exchange rate, with the final amount displayed before transaction confirmation.

Today, the Alipay+ acceptance network covers more than 150 million merchants across 220 countries and territories, including more than 10 national payment systems. The service is available in some of the world’s most popular travel and business destinations, including China, Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, and many others.

Through Alipay+, users can make payments at retail stores, restaurants, public transportation services, tourist attractions, and a wide range of other merchants displaying the Alipay+ acceptance mark. Payments are completed by scanning a QR code directly within a mobile banking application.

The service supports all payment cards issued by banks in Uzbekistan — including HUMO, Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, and Uzcard — provided they are linked to the user’s banking application.

How It Works

1.  Open your bank’s mobile application while abroad.

2.  Scan the merchant’s QR code displaying the Alipay+ logo.

3.  Confirm the payment. The amount will be automatically debited from your HUMO card in Uzbek soums.

The expansion of international QR payments reflects HUMO’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to digital financial services and building a more connected payment ecosystem for citizens of Uzbekistan at home and abroad.

HUMO will continue to expand international payment capabilities and strengthen cooperation with global partners to further improve the convenience, accessibility, and efficiency of cross-border payments for users across Uzbekistan.
